As a child, I remember going to my local post office and buying stamps. Although this is not the only location where you can purchase them, it was one of the few that I knew about.
When I went into college, I continued to go there to buy stamps and ship packages because it was so convenient and easy for me.
Little did I know that using SAM machines (Self-service Automated Machines), which are located all over the place now, would be even more efficient than going in person!
This blog post will answer some frequently asked questions about these machines as well as teach you how they work!
Do SAM Machines Sell Stamps?
Yes, they do, and there is a large variety to choose from. For example, their cheapest option is Express Mail stamps.
Luckily, ordering through the website avoids this problem, but it’s worth noting that not all of their options can be ordered directly without going through an intermediary vendor such as ZamZam Shipping.
If you’re in Honolulu and want to buy them right away, head on down to Aala Park near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam!
From stamps for emergencies to stamps for hobbies, there are different stamp packages that save buyers some money if they need a large quantity of specific postage or themes on a regular basis.
The more time a customer spends with SAM Machines’ employees while buying something the easier it becomes to buy the stamps.
How to Buy Stamps from SAM Kiosk
The SAM Kiosk is the quickest and simplest way to buy stamps. To access the kiosk select “from U.S., Canada, or Mexico” to view available options for shipping via USPS, FedEx, DHL, UPS, or signature required.
Next log in using your USPS email address and pin number to place an order. When prompted enter your zip code or city name to find the shipping warehouse nearest you.
Select sell stamps for face value under postage purchases then adjust the quantity by tapping on +60 tabs until it reaches 100 total stamps.
Proceed to complete the purchase by following prompts on the screen then tap “print postage” to print USPS stickers with the date stamp of next day guaranteed delivery.
SAM Kiosks in the US
As a service to its customers, the United States Postal Service has introduced self-service kiosks in some USPS Retail Offices. The SAM Kiosks offer alternatives for most transactions and services normally conducted with a clerk at the Post Office counter.
- Open up an account (choose “I want to register”),
- Hit “next” and do not connect to the camera
- Under “choose what you need” pick “5 Mark Twain stamps”
- Then hit “checkout” and insert your credit/debit card into the reader on the left side of the machine
- The next step would depend on whether you scanned the codes before or after selecting 5 MKT stamps.
